At the launch of the Royal Princess in Southampton - we were the 'guides' - stayed
onboard for the week and showed round the press and visitors. I had the
'privilege' of operating the lift on the big day for HRH Princess of Wales - Diana! I shall never forget it - it was the day she wore tights with little bows on her ankles..!

was taken on the Royal Princess maiden voyage in 1984, and is Jimmy
Shaw (3 Eng) and Jan Bacon (PRS) who I have noted is still at sea
(as Restaurant Manger) and is in the latest photo's of "Miss
Jones" paying off for the last time. They must have just had a
round of drinks delivered for the poor old 12-4 in the control room
and I don't think Jim was too pleased that I had taken the photo.

Carol
and Helen were part of a dance troup called 'Sweet Something' who appeared
on Canberra in the mid 1970's. Carol married Radio Officer John Slade who
had just been appointed to RP as ETO. Carol subsequently went on to star
in television.
