1984 Maiden Voyage

Courtesy of Lynn Hurlstone (Now Hart)

Lynn recalls;

At the launch of the Royal Princess in Southampton - we were the 'guides' - stayed onboard for the week and showed round the press and visitors. I had the 'privilege' of operating the lift on the big day for HRH Princess of Wales - Diana! I shall never forget it - it was the day she wore tights with little bows on her ankles..!

October 1987.
L-R:

Debbie Rimmer (am I right? Not sure what happened to this lady - she lived in Caversham I remember), Amanda Sinnatt (before she married Roger Dobney), Jane Howard, David Charles (Charlie), James Cusick, Jane Hunt, Tracy Piper (Ents - my great buddy) and Lynn Hurlstone.

1984 Engine Control Room

Courtesy of Don Cole

Don recalls;

This was taken on the Royal Princess maiden voyage in 1984, and is Jimmy Shaw (3 Eng) and Jan Bacon (PRS) who I have noted is still at sea (as Restaurant Manger) and is in the latest photo's of "Miss Jones" paying off for the last time. They must have just had a round of drinks delivered for the poor old 12-4 in the control room and I don't think Jim was too pleased that I had taken the photo.
