I see Barry Gatland has been emailing you - well I found the only picture of Gatland I have
- Sea Princess refit luncheon outing just before repatriation in Malta - he's the chap at the back in the middle. The bearded chap is Jonathan Nutall
(Purser) still at sea, we have 2 nursing sisters & 2 entertainers &
I cannot make out the chap far right back.
However, Gatland was a friend of the ships who worked at Flag - Group air travel - always looked after us with upgrades when he could, lounge facilities offered to us on passing through airports as he had inside contacts with various airport station
chiefs. A bygone era .... Barry & his wife Jean always had their home guest door open to us Pursers when leaving one of the London airports and always a nice curry awaiting us.
They were honoured guests at my wedding on the Quean Mary in Long Beach in 89. Thanks Barry!
World Cruise 1985 - onboard Sea Princess in the Panama Canal - we were passing the Royal Princess, closed the Bureau and went
up to the Monkey Island to drink some bubbly.

Simon
recalls;
One day out of
Noumea and my old ship appeared out of the proverbial Pacific Mist, ORIANA the
world's third mightiest ocean liner came up to us like we were standing still!!! Wow I thought to myself is that what we looked like under speed?? Jeez what a sight, the old girl just kicked up her heels under the venerable hands of Captain John (Wacky) Wacher and did the business as she had done to so many ships in her very speedy career.
Passengers and crew on both Sea Princess and Oriana lined the rails.
Across the waters came the ominous cry only known to British merchant
sailors "Ogie! Ogie! Ogie! Oiy!Oiy!Oiy! repeated with great gusto particularly from the Oriana camp being mostly European crew, our reply unfortunately was just like our ship the SEA PRINCESS
... rather dull, there were a few European stewards and coxswains etc but the whole essence of European crew
European ship was lost with the Princess class of ship as cheap labour started at this time making cruising as it is today cut throat and clinical. However I'm just an old sailor raving on!!!!.

Gregg
Walker has taken up the challenge with the following info;
2nd Left = Gus ? (BRS)
3rd Left = Terry Russell (C/O)
5th Left = Bryn Attwood (BRS)
6th Left = Simon Gledhill (PRS) - now a steward with British AW and resides
in Bournemouth, Dorset.
8th Left -= Paul Baker (BRS) (aka Stringbean)
10th Left = Mick Wood (PRS later became Asst. Bars). He then went to Pacific Princess as a Full Barman.
Mick married Christine Parrish (PRS) in Sydney whilst we were Aussie cruising. They had a son and
daughter but sadly she was taken from us in November 2001 from Breast Cancer at just
49 years of age.
Xmas Party onboard Sea Princess - in Chilli Ho's room (? Can't remember what we called it!) 23rd December 1984.
I'm 3rd from left sat on floor - Mother Christmas. 'Legs' (John Taylor) is next to me.
In front as the clown is Vivien, Peter Bates to her left (what happened to him?) and behind him is
James Cusick as the Snowman with Elaine Israel.... Can't really remember all the other names - am sure other people will.

Rennie adds;
It's John WinterBONE, not bottom, known as "The Bone". Far left with grey hair is
Chris Chandler (aka Hollywood - ex Arcadia) lives somewhere in QLD I think, John Thow, then the dark face is the famous Hugie Martin. Mick (Mickrick) is Mick Riley next to John the Elder. LHS back looking sideways is Joe the Malt- storekeeper I believe, little guy is a young fitter I believe and the guy in front of the piston rod left is Robin Sutherland, next to him is Mike (Magpie) Man - Storekeeper. The guy adjusting his cap far right is somebody Oliver, possibly Steven (Cadet). Far right back row is No1 fitter. The wiper second left front row crouching would beg me not to give him a job on deck and when asked why he would say "Too many naked women!". This was taken in the very early days of the CP.
