The
priceless and treasured Golden Cockerel. mv Oriana holds the Golden Cockerel trophy for the fastest ship in the P&O fleet. Previously held by
ss Oriana it passed to tev Canberra on retirement of the first Oriana in 1986. On Canberra's final cruise in 1997 the Golden Cockerel was handed over to the new Oriana when both ships were anchored off Cannes and sent boats out to perform the handover.
These 2 photos were taken on the 15th
February 2009 on Jewkesy's last day on mv Oriana. After some well earned
leave he will be joining mv Arcadia to see out his days to retirement.

Before I left I managed to get a picture of both myself and David
Pembridge beside the Golden Cockerel and with the Sydney Harbour Bridge behind us. We had not long rung off engines with both David and myself getting off yesterday and neither due to return to Oriana.
This
was taken onboard the Oriana yesterday (5th February 2010) at the dining out of Tony Wallis who was receiving his 30 year Long Service Award from the captain.
