David Harbinson (Retired)
This is how I remember Harbo, the sparky, taken in my cabin on Nevasa in December 1974 and sadly I haven't seen him since. I left a couple of years later and Dave stayed until a couple of weeks ago. I know who made the right decision.
The above photo shows the fantastic Canon EOS 500D camera which I received along with camera bag, crystal decanter and wine glasses, crystal ship's wheel, commemorative Royal Princess plaque and various other gifts. I was formally dined out by Capt. Bill Kent and the senior officers and then of course there were a few less formal events. In fact there were so many farewell parties, I think they were trying to tell me something :-)
Dave with his lovely wife Sarah.
And here's Dave with the Godmother of Royal Princess, Lorraine Arzt, who pretty much lives permanently on the ship. I believe she is about to enter the Guinness Book of Records as the most travelled cruise ship passenger, fast approaching 5000 days.
walked down the gangway for the last time with my wife Sarah on 1st
June in Venice. We had 4 fantastic days there before flying back to
Vancouver where we are now busy house hunting.
... as you can see, they gave me "a big hand" as I walked along the quay to the waiting gondola.
There's more of David continuing here.
