ACT 1

The entire cast open the show with... what else?

"There's No Business Like Show Business"

An Irving Berlin song, written for 'Annie Get Your Gun' and orchestrated by Ted Royal. The song, a salute to the glamour and excitement of a life in show business, is sung in the musical by members of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show in an attempt to persuade Annie Oakley to join the Wild West Show. It is reprised 3 times in the musical. The song is also featured in the 1954 movie of the same name, where it's notably sung by Ethel Merman as the main musical number.

An Advertiseing Studio in London starring;

Terry Russell and Tanky at the beginning but unnamed others join in.

The Navigator

David recalls;

The Navigator was actually played by the 2nd Officer, but I’ve forgotten his name along with the names of the others. The young lady may have been a dancer.

Fortunately the Navigator has identified himself, Paul Boyce writes;

Wow! I've just found this website and unfortunately watched myself doing the Navigator sketch with Amanda on the Oriana all those years ago :(

The alcohol salesman was played by the 1st RO whose name I’ve forgotten along with the waiter's.

Lead by Captain Philip Jackson, the first lady is Angie Carr (travelling as a wife), the second lady ??, the third lady is Judy Saunders (travelling as my wife) and the fourth lady ??.
