Terry Wild’s MemoriesThis is the sea career of Terence Wild starting in the Royal Navy then onto the Merchant Navy with P&O.
This
is Terry on HMS Jamaica in the early 50's. HMS Jamaica Terry joined the RNVR in 1951 as Sto/Era. He passed the Era trade test in 1953 becoming Era 5th class. In 1954 became Era acting 4th class. He trained on HMS Jamaica, HMS Victory Barracks and HMS Illustrious.

... then Terry moved as 3rd E.O. on ss Strathmore until April 1960.
Terry then got his Chief's ticket in June 1960 and was offered the position of 2nd E.O. on Canberra while it was being built but he turned that down and left P&O in July 1960 to get married (the best move ever he recalls) and he started work with G.E.G.B.
