Wild CurlewCourtesy of Jess Muir Jess writes; In P&O’s infinite wisdom, and in order to give their engineer cadets the widest experience possible, my first two trips to sea were 4 ½ months each on the Wild Curlew and the Wild Cormorant – identical sister ships! In actuality they were a blast as they were trampers - which meant that you could end up anywhere, they were fast (20+ knots) - as they were reefers, and they were break bulk – which meant that when you got to port, you stayed for a long time while the stevedores loaded/unloaded the ship. Pretty much heaven for a kid on his first trips to sea!
